- Keynote: A life in NLEs and Making Personal Movies - Randy Ubillos
Randy Ubillos will speak about his own moviemaking experiences and the power of video to inspire and document our lives. He will also provide tips and tricks for making your own movies. Randy will also be interviewed by Alex Gollner, talking about NLEs leading up to FCPX, and how FCPX has once again lowered the barriers and allowed more people to edit.
About Randy Ubillos
Randy Ubillos is an avid photographer, videographer and quadcopter pilot. He recently retired from Apple, where he was Chief Architect on a range of products, including Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Pro X, Aperture, iMovie '08 through iMovie '11 and iPhoto for iOS.
About Alex Gollner
Alex Gollner is a freelance editor based in London. As well as editing projects ranging from dramatic shorts to films for corporations and charities, he creates complex motion graphics sequences for large-scale live events.
In 2008 he discovered a bug in one of Final Cut Pro 6’s video effects. The bug that made it impossible for many international users to use scrolling text. Alex fixed the fault and uploaded a new version of the effect to the web. This was the first of many free Final Cut Pro plugins he's donated to the editing community since then.
Since June 2011 Alex has published over 60 'Alex4D' Final Cut Pro X plugins online that were built using Apple Motion 5.
- "Working with DaVinci Resolve 12" - Fred Beahm, Blackmagic Design
Blackmagic Design announced DaVinci Resolve 12 at NAB 2015 (shipping in July) and Blackmagic's Fred Beahm will give one of the first demonstrations of the new software and its new features.
About Fred Beahm
Fred Beahm is a Product Specialist at Blackmagic Design focusing on Davinci Resolve and Post-Production workflows. As a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild and Affiliate Member of American Cinema Editors, Fred is active in the Los Angeles editing community. As a Picture Editor he has worked on a wide range of short and feature length films as well as commercial projects with high profile companies such as Amazon, Boeing, Google, Microsoft, Intel, and Starbucks. Recently, one of the feature films Fred edited, ‘THE HOLLOW ONE’, made its premiere at the 2015 Seattle International Film Festival.

About Michael Lewis
Michael Lewis is the Product Manager for Pre Production workflows (Adobe Story CC, Adobe Prelude CC, Adobe Prelude Live Logger) in the Adobe Digital Video and Audio group. He has been with Adobe since 2001. He began his career at Adobe as a Quality Engineer for Adobe Photoshop, and then in 2005 moved to the Adobe Premiere Pro in the same position. Over the years Michael has worked closely with engineering, customers, and partners to help develop Adobe's video tools into an integral part of many production workflows, which has led to his current position as a Product Manager. While Michael enjoys working for a company that is continually at the forefront of digital imaging, he can still be found on weekends filming with his favorite Super 8mm film camera.
