- "Final Cut Pro X - Re-Focused" - Steve Martin, Mark Spencer, Jan Kovac
Join RippleTraining's Steve Martin and Mark Spencer as they lead an onstage interview with Jan Kovac, the lead editor on Warner Brothers feature film FOCUS. Much has changed since Final Cut Pro X's initial release, and Jan will discuss how Final Cut Pro X allowed them cut a feature film using editing workflows that included full dynamic range ProRes media; multicam clips to cut dialogue scenes, and his use of off-the-shelf plugins to create temp effects for screenings.

Steve Martin and Mark SpencerAbout Steve Martin and Mark Spencer
Steve Martin and Mark Spencer are the creative duo behind RippleTraining.com. With their weekly MacBreak Studio show, comprehensive online tutorials and productivity tools, they have been the vanguard educating editors, filmmakers and content producers all over the world on the benefits of using Apple’s next-generation post production tools.

Jan KovacAbout Jan Kovac
Jan Kovac was born in the Czech Republic and graduated from Prague’s Charles University with a degree in Film Journalism. Realizing he had more of an interest in working in film than writing about it, Jan moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at UCLA to study editing. Kovac honed his editing skills by working on the syndicated and international versions of HBO’s hit series, “The Sopranos,” “Six Feet Under,”  and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” among others.  By re-editing these successful series, Kovac learned how to interpret and honor different directing and writing styles that enriched his visual story-telling skills. 'FOCUS' is his first feature film.

From Larry: All of us here this evening have had an unquenchable dream to make a difference in the way people see things and the world around them. At 14 Larry felt there was a better, faster, less expensive way to upgrade, enhance, extend the life of Macs so people could do their work without breaking the bank. It's a special bond he is committed to see grow so you can follow your path to express yourself and tell your stories visually. With your creative talent, everything is possible

Assembling upgrade solutions and providing step-by-step instructions and support, he found almost anyone could do the work. Over the past 25 years the company’s product lines have grown to include internal and external storage and upgrade/accessory solutions for Mac and PC computers. The company continues its commitment to personalized assistance/support with comprehensive documentation, extensive how-to videos and 24x7 US based technical support team. - Sapphire 8 - Essential plugins that are now infinitely expandable!
GenArts is proud have Jeff I. Greenberg, Master Trainer and Editor, close out the SuperMeet by giving you a glimpse into the potential of what makes Sapphire so powerful, and how they can make your lives easier and your work look more creatively unique.

The problem with most plugins is that you’re limited to what they can do out of the box. What if you could change and revise every single effect as easy as changing a flow chart? See how to easily do so with Sapphire in Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer.

About Jeff Greenberg
Jeff Greenberg is Master Instructor (Adobe, Apple, Avid) - he’s an editor who also teaches how to communicate the technology of film and video. He’s an author of a number of books, videos for Lynda.Com and macProVideo.

Jeff makes the complex easier to understand and speaks at international events like NAB, Adobe Max, Cabsat, IBC, CES and Inter BEE. Consistently voted as one of the top seminar speakers/interviewers, audience’s feedback includes approachability and student-centered teaching that helps keep them up to date on industry standards.
He’s the program chair of the EditorsRetreat.com and the FCPXCreativeSummit.com (who is partnering with the SuperMeet in late June!)
